SmoothTube 2.9.6 keeps subscriptions and recommendations current throughout the app and brings thumbnail motion to the video page.
Feeds that stay current
- Subscription uploads refresh in the background even when the Subscriptions page is not open.
- General and interest-based recommendations refresh in the background from any page.
- Reopening the Channels list fetches the latest subscribed channels.
- Failed background refreshes preserve the last successful cached results.
Animated Up Next thumbnails
- Up Next recommendations now use the same smooth thumbnail animation as feed cards.
- Queued and playlist videos in the video-page sidebar receive the same treatment.
Safer fullscreen playback
- Returning from fullscreen now uses a guarded window transition to prevent intermittent crashes.
- Fullscreen player controls remain correctly fitted to the visible screen.
Availability
SmoothTube 2.9.6 is distributed through the Microsoft Store. If the update is not visible yet, Microsoft may still be processing, certifying, or gradually rolling out the submission.
