# SmoothTube

> SmoothTube is an independent native Windows 11 application for browsing and watching YouTube. It is made by Northwind Lab and is not affiliated with Google or YouTube.

SmoothTube is distributed through the Microsoft Store. It provides a WinUI 3 desktop interface for YouTube subscriptions, channels, editable and saved playlists, advanced search, comments, playback, persistent queues, optional keyword-based recommendations, watched status, and local Continue Watching progress. Users supply their own YouTube Data API credentials, and optional Google sign-in enables account features. Credentials, watched state, preferences, saved-playlist references, and account-derived caches stay in local Windows storage; SmoothTube does not route Google account data through a Northwind Lab server.
